Baptist Health South Florida signs lease with Downtown Doral

Baptist Health South Florida is expanding its presence in Doral with a 15-year lease for a Baptist Health Express Care location and physician offices in Downtown Doral, Miami’s premiere town center located off of 87th Avenue and NW 53rd Street.

“Downtown Doral’s community offering of residences, commerce, education and shopping/dinning will allow us to expand access to healthcare for the families, workforce and visitors in the area,” said Ana Lopez-Blazquez, Executive Vice President and Chief Strategy Officer for Baptist Health South Florida. “Baptist Health is committed to improving the health and wellness of the communities we serve and expanding access to top-quality care and service in South Florida. We want to make it convenient for our patients and families to receive the care they need near where they work and live, and our new location will undoubtedly add to our effort.”

The new Baptist Health South Florida site will be located on the northeast corner of NW 53rd Street and NW 84th Avenue directly across the street from Downtown Doral Charter Elementary School and diagonal to Downtown Doral Park. Baptist Health Express Care is an appointment-free healthcare option in which an ARNP- nurse practitioner- will provide speedy treatment for minor injuries and illnesses. The new offering will complement Baptist Health’s existing medical plaza located nearby, on NW 99th Avenue and 41 Street.

“Our relationship with Baptist Health South Florida goes back a few decades when we developed the Baptist Medical Office buildings as Codina Group,” said Armando Codina, Executive Chairman of Codina Partners, developer of Downtown Doral. “This time around, we engaged with Baptist Health to bring in a component that helps to complete the life cycle at Downtown Doral: healthcare. Now, anyone in the area will be able to conveniently access the new Baptist Health location. Next, we’ll look to bring in a senior living component to Downtown Doral.”

Mickey Finkle and Arthur Shifrin, both with Koniver Stern Group, represented the landlord Downtown Doral Retail Holdings, LLC in the Baptist Health and all retail deals for Downtown Doral.
The new 4,169 square foot location of Baptist Health South Florida will form part of phase II of The Shops at Downtown Doral, which like Phase I, will feature locally-owned storefronts, trendy eateries along with desirable service offerings. Phase II broke ground in June 2017.
